WELCOME!!
Hello and welcome to my teacher webpage. I will be your sixth grade Advanced Math or seventh grade Math teacher this year! I am so excited to begin this school year! I hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to work hard for another school year. But first, let me tell you a few things about myself so we can get to know one another.
*This is my fifth year teaching Math at Virginia Middle School.
*This is also my fifth year as the head Junior Varsity softball coach for Virginia High School and the assistant Varsity softball coach. I also coach a travel softball team here in Bristol. This is my second year coaching middle school basketball, and first year coaching middle school volleyball. So...Go Bearcats!!!!
*I help sponsor the Beta Club.
*I am a graduate of Emory and Henry College, where I received a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree with my major as Interdisciplinary Mathematics Education.
*I am a member of the Phi Eta Sigma and Sigma Mu Honor Societies.
*I was a catcher for the Emory & Henry softball team for three years where I was awarded the ODAC Academic All-Conference Award every year. I was also the recipient of the Wasp Award (Best All Around) my final year.
*I am from Meadowview, Virginia; however, I now reside in Piney Flats, Tennessee.
*I have been married for almost five years to my husband, Aaron.
*I have 2 fur-babies, a lab mix named Oliver or Olly, and a black lab named Dixie.
*I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a member of the Bearcat Spartans! I have completed 5 Spartan races so far! In my spare time, I love hunting and fishing. I do pretty much anything outdoors, and I love playing sports so I am very competitive!!
*I was born and raised on a farm.
*I attended Patrick Henry High School in Glade Spring, VA where I played softball, basketball, and volleyball. I was a member of the National Honor Society, Washington County Community Scholars, Key Club, FBLA, FCA, and FTA.
*I LOVE TO HAVE FUN!! Hopefully, we will get to have a lot of fun this year in my class. I enjoy coming to school each and every day. The amount of "fun" we get to have will depend on YOU! We will treat one another with respect and everything will go smoothly! I look forward to a great school year with each of you!
